After 37 years in the RAF have returned to my family home in Aylsham. Currently working for the Town Council as the Events and Famers Market Officer, just part time. Awarded the MBE in the 1994 Queens Birthday Honours list. Married with two grown up daughters, and one grandson! I do not tread the boards and was happy just looking after the accounts for the Players as Treasurer, ensuring that they do not overspend on lavish productions. I have recently been appointed Chairman.

Interests: Judo, Black belt 2nd Dan, qualified as a level 3 coach, qualified as a competition Controller. Throughout my RAF career I represented the RAF and Combined Services at Judo all over the world, Represented GB at the Am-Can international Judo Tournament in Buffalo USA. Was a member of the organizing committee for the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, the 1999 World Championships in Birmingham along with various European and National events.

For a number of years I was back stage, for a number of Amdram groups plotting and operating the lights for shows. I started working on stage lighting many years ago at Cromer Pier Summer Show, which I did for 4 years.

In 2006/7 I was “discovered”, when I was asked to take the vacant part of an Ugly Sister in Cinderella at Ludham. Some would say “type-cast” for the description of ugly. I have performed in a number of comedy plays and pantomimes, whilst still writing the lighting plots for various shows. In 2009 I joined the Aylsham Players, and have combined being on stage in some shows and operating lights for other shows.

Now I have risen to the dizzy heights of being a member of our committee.
